To avoid any problems may I add a few things here just in case
1) The client you download will be aion N/A
2) If you are from th EU..On the NCsoft Launcher go to file top left
then go to advanced. In there you will see the Option....Europe..check that just in case its set to US
. So if you have a Euro beta key this has to be set within that to Europe otherwise you will not be able to log on.
...................................
Remedy should this situation arise also
To avoid downloading the game again if you had serious problems with the Launcher
Uninstall he launcher and also any files in the ncsoft launcher folder ...found within explorer make sure the folder is Empty (Reboot PC)
then download the Launcher again and it will prompt you to use the empty ncsoft launcher folder ..say yes
Just a cough /cough way beta keys sent by email on pre orders.
try the game /beta you could always cancell later as date is 23Sept Retail

Gamestop says that orders cannot be canceled after the beta code ships in big red letters on the aion preorder page.
That's why I preordered from Amazon

P2P is good. If you can't afford it, well, that sucks for you.

This about says it all. As far as not being able to afford it...cmon, get a job, mow a lawn.
Aion is pretty impressive. Graphics are incredible and the game looks good so far. Dunno if I'll go for it tho. I don't like the way chars move and I HATE the rootkit or whatever they claim it is..not one little bit! Had to pretty much shut down Kaspersky to get it to play. I realize this is beta but things like load times that are long enough to grab a bite to eat and a shower are irritating as ...heck.
Edit. The graphics, character cusomization and game mechanics are never going to be available for free. There is just a huge amount of time/money invested on the part of the producer that has to be paid for and still be profitable .

yea look at it this way... buy aion just like any other game.
then stop playing it in 3 months cause you're bored of it and buy another game.
if you arent bored of aion in 3 months.... dont buy another game, spend the money on aion.
i mean.... i spend 8 bucks + who knows what for food to watch harry potter in the theatre....
i think its very reasonable to play aion for an entire month at around 14 bucks?
heres the thing... just play the beta seriously. there are SO many reasons why its awesome. trade flight question beauty crafting its all so far above guild wars for me to go back to guild wars after the beta weekend would be like driving a pinto after flying around the track in a race car. its fun and all and gets the job done..... but why spend time in average land when you can fly?
you get to play aion for less than 15 month, when for example i can merely watch tv for 50 a month or so. i think on the relative scale of things a monthly subscription is dam cheap.

Aion: PVP is unavoidable???
.
I was going through a few sites trying to see if anything new was happening and saw that pvp was not avoidable according to TenTonHammer, Aion Source and Massive. This is a post laying out levels and pve/pvp.
http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cf...=242738&bhcp=1
I had been under the impression that pvp was going to be a choice. While I was looking forward to doing some pvp I was NOT looking forward to getting ganked by a player at near twice my level on one of those nights I just needed to get away for a bit..
There are times that pvp is fun and times when the game is just a place to relax and poke around.
Your thoughts?
Moderator Thought: Lets keep it to one central Aion thread plz.

Meh, honestly I looked at the trailer and looks like a WoW clone except better graphics. WoW has been in development for like 7 years and Aion is just a new release. I'd stick for wow / rs / gw for now unless Aion is better then WoW and then wait for gw2 / d3 / sc2 and start those.

You can fly in Aion. You can't do that in World of Warcraft as far as I know, I don't play World of Warcraft. It ruined the franchise. I loved Starcraft WC1 WC2 and WC3 but making pay to play just killed it for me.

Many, many different types of flying mounts.
You've actually been able to fly since Burning Crusade hit.

Two expressions, "wow clone" and "rs" totally destroyed your credibility.
You know that WoW itself is just a clone of few MMOs before? It didn't actually add anything new, just copied the ideas from other games.

I think he's talking about flying + combat, without mounts. Because most of Aion's gameplay is about flight and aerial combat, something WoW lacks.
Oh, and a good PvP.

I can killing spree people midair and kill them, does that count ;o
I hope you aren't insinuating that Aion has good PvP, because from what I've seen its the same super particle-effects heavy clusterf*ck that every other castle siege PvP game is, but with flying.

Untrue. There are quests that involve aerial combat now. Entire dungeons and raids, even.
Perhaps you should speak less about the credibility of others.

Dungeons and raids are still pve-only.
Also, about the bolded "now" part - since WotLK? One of the recent patches?
Aion has appeared for the first time in 2006 and it had flight as one of the main features.

Yes, I am. Because most of the higher level skills are for PvP or otherwise flying creatures, either the other faction or the Balaur.
Besides, most of the end-game raids in Abyss are a mix of PvP and PvE.

Since TBC, actually, albeit in a much rougher form. Much more was added in WotLK, though.

TBC was announced in 2005 and flight was one of the main features. So, what's your point?
You really should make sure you know what you are talking about when comparing MMOs, dude. Being wrong doesn't help your credibility any.

Still, it's aerial combat in WoW is only by mounts and only by flying mounts. What about PvP on mounts, again?
Aion, on the other hand, has a whole system of positions and attack chains in air, balanced well enough that every class (at least in 1.2+) has a chance in Aerial PvP.
Still, saying Aion is a WoW clone is still stupid. Maybe GW is a WoW clone too?
If anything, Aion is more similar to L2 than to anything else.
